Well, American Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I found this AWESOME site that has thanksgiving science, thanksgiving math, thanksgiving music and much much more.

One good thing about this site was that it has preschool games that you can use for everyday teaching that is not themed, or you can make it have a “thanksgiving theme”.

There is so much you can do with thanksgivng with a preschooler. Isn’t the preschool age just a blast??

Being Thankful Thanksgiving is a great time to teach preschoolers the importance of being thankful. There are many ideas out there regarding thanksgiving themes and activities. And just looking back at the history of thanksgiving is a great opportunity for teaching. Here are some neat ideas I found online at http://www.kinderplans.com/content.cfm?pageid=176 The ideas are really neat and look like a lot of fun. There are of course crafts to do. There is a really neat book to read about being thankful that you can actually print off the computer and have the chilren put together. They also get to fill in the last page themselves with a picture of what they are thankful for. There is also a really neat handprint poem for the children to do for their parents. I just LOVE the handprint poems. I have my daughter do one every year. It’s really neat to see how much their little hands have grown in a year. So check out the site, hopefully you get some neat ideas from it that you can use for your preschooler. If you are looking more for thanksgiving printables I came across some neat ones at http://www.atozteacherstuff.com/Themes/Thanksgiving/ There are actually different themed lesson plans for different grades in this site, at the bottom of the site I noticed you could choose the grade level you are looking for. They are all regarding thanksgiving and I was surprised at how many different subjects or ideas you could cover just around Thanksgiving. There are a lot of lesson plans on this page that are truly historical as well as others that are more geared for just having fun, like your songs and fingerplays. I found both of these sites were FULL of ideas for your thanksgiving lesson plans for your preschool age children. Enjoy!!
