Financial Planning for Preschoolers
I believe Financial Planning for Preschoolers is VERY important. There is so much you can teach them and in this day and age it’s vital that they learn proper money handling skills.
I’m sure you all have memories of allowances as children. I remember getting $1. a week for allowance. I had to tithe 10% and put 10% into savings. With the 80 cents I had left I was allowed to spend it on whatever I liked. I remember going down to the corner store and buying candy sometimes and other times our family would go to garage sales and see what “treasures” we could find. Sometimes I’d save my allowance for a couple weeks so I could buy a bigger toy. (This was in the 1980’s so $1 a week went a lot farther than today.)
My parents were trying to teach me about money management and I admire them for that. But can we do more to teach our children about financial planning? I came across this site that was very informative and had some great ideas that were both fun and interesting to children.
The site is from The News Tribune. Check it out. There are many neat ideas on how to teach kids financial planning. This is a vital subject to teach our children. I hope you enjoy and get inspired.
